After 4 years, Cirque du Soleil returns to Brazil with Amaluna, a show that praises women’s strength and empowerment.
Amaluna invites the audience to explore a mysterious island ruled by Goddesses and guided by the moon cycles. To celebrate her daughter Miranda’s coming of age, Queen Prospera directs a ceremony honoring femininity, renewal, rebirth and balance, and passes on these ideas and values from one generation to another.
After a storm, a group of young men washes up on the island, including Romeo, who will eventually win the Queen’s daughter heart. But the young couple’s love will be put to the test: they will have to overcome many obstacles before they find the path of mutual trust, loyalty and harmony.
Organized by IMM, AMALUNA premières in São Paulo on October 5th at Parque Villa Lobos, then it heads to Rio de Janeiro, where it starts the season on December 28th at Parque Olímpico.
